Women and men in recovery have specialized needs
once they begin to reintegrate into the community. During active
addiction they may have experienced emotional, and/or physical trauma.
They, also, frequently have few marketable skills that would make
employment and support of their families possible. Without
constructive therapeutic assistance, the consequence is relapse to
unhealthy addiction and, thus, failure to achieve any level of
economic stability. Our Outpatient program addresses these issues
through professional counseling, including psychiatric evaluation, on
these extended care levels.
INDIVIDUAL OUTPATIENT THERAPY
Individual Outpatient Therapy is tailored to meet
the needs of adult and adolescent women and men clients to help them
consolidate and integrate the skills and techniques they are learning
through therapy sessions.
PROBLEM GAMBLING BEHAVIOR
The Turning Point II Outpatient Program defines
problem gambling as any gambling behavior negatively impacting the
lives of individuals, resulting in serious personal, financial, or
legal consequences. Turning Point II Lead Counselor, Lis Mihok, is
Nationally certified and professionally prepared to actively provide
personal and group counseling to individuals with problems associated
with this type of addictive behavior. Contact Ms. Mihok at
724.222.0112 / 412.885.0615 or call the Council on Compulsive Gambling
of Pennsylvania at 1-800-848-1880.
INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT RELAPSE PREVENTION
Outpatient Relapse Prevention Group is geared to
those individuals with substance abuse problems who are currently
abstinent but are in need of support and assistance to prevent
relapse.
EATING DISORDERS
Many recovering addicts experience another disease
classified as an Eating Disorder. Relapse frequently occurs due to the
failure to treat this underlying eating problem. Concurrent treatment
is recommended to deal with both the addictive behavior and the eating
disorder.
VOCATIONAL SUPPORT
Vocational Support Group has developed out of a
need for a supportive venue for recovering substance abusers to share
frustrations and concerns about seeking employment and retaining
employment. Services include hands on assistance with development of
resumes and cover letters, completion of applications, interview
skills training, job networking and job search.
All sessions by appointment Monday through
Saturday including evenings. Courtesy consultations provided upon request.
